Sequatchie Co High School

I graduated in 2008 but only went to SCHS for 2 years. Before I went to Signal Mountain schools. The education was just enough to call it that in the states eyes. The teachers do not go above and beyond like I was used to. The materials we learned, books we read, and things we were to be tested on were old news! I had already learned/read it in Middle School. When it was time for my child to start kindergarten I was 100%sure I did NOT want to send him to Sequathie County Schools.

Very amazing school system. I really love our school, being highly educated. I have gone to Sequatchie County Schools all my life and I plan to continue being there. I love Sequatchie.

I couldn't agree more, the extra curricular activities are NECESSARY for success, we left there, it became apparent they are still educating just enough to make some good coal miners.Submitted by a parent

don't ever expect a snow day because they don't let school out no matter how unsafe it is submitted by a student who believes his life gets put in danger way too much just to make a school look good.Submitted by a student

im sorry but as a student i just couldnt agree with this at all. sure the teachers are OK but most of them do not put forth ANY effort to actually challenge us kids. all in all i think the student body cares about one another and if very friendly in general. but a major issue also, is communication between the principal, teachers, students, and parents. i never EVER know whats going on! unless the office announces news over the intercom. and lastly, i dont think they are doing a good jog with getting students ready for college! there needs to be more extracurriculars! especially in the 'arts'.Submitted by a student

I have been extremely pleased with the quality of education I feel my daughter is receiving at SCHS. Her teachers and the principal know her personally, and care about her not only as a student but as a person. I have two older children who graduated from two other schools, and I believe the environment at Sequatchie is definitely preferable.Submitted by a parent
